In what year did Gibson USA start making Les Paul Standards and Traditionals with Mahogany bodies that are made of two pieces glued together? Do they still do this

Gibson USA hasn't made pancakes, those were a normal thing for all LP's in the early to mid 70's. I think the op is referring to the modern side joined "Solid Mahogany" as opposed to "One Piece Body". Like Explorers. I know it is a fairly recent thing on LP's.

Clarafication, the reference to Explorers is in regards to body builds, USA having a multi piece body and CS typically having one.
