It is one of my favorite 'burst flashes. 9 1953 has a most amazing "burning-like" top half. This is R9 0741--My first one..

Whats going on with the tailpiece? are those lines from top wrapping? also why are the ends of the strings sticking out the back?

Oh.. the tailpiece is what came originally on my '53.. I put an un-hacked one on the 53 and decided to slap this one on the R9 (because its old/light). Wrong thing to do? maybe.. I am going to top wrap it next time I put strings on, so we'll see what that's like (I have an R6 top wrapped and like the 'slinky-ness' it brings).

Spent a long time looking for the perfect top for my R9...looks similar to yours. Congrats.
