• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Brazilian Rosewood question

How much is Brazilian Rosewood worth currently? I'm talking about a small stash from the 30's, five to six boards (measurements are guesses at this point, 8-10' long,5/4" thick and probably 18" wide)
Thanks.

Good one, Tom:salude

A friend of mine has a small old stash that he wants to see put to good use. I have no interest in it but I would like to give him an idea of what it's worth should he decide to include it in his next garage sale.

I would think a great deal,
but I cannot give you a price.

provided its crack free,

wide enough for any application,
including backs

from the 30s. could be simply magnificent figuring and color
very exciting

I guess the wood is in Germany, right ?
If it´s there or in Europe, please contact me.

In an above board sale, the wood would require permits, and the permits
would require documentation. (A Pre-Ban Certification, and a Chain of Custody)
Without permits, the wood isn’t legal to sell. Private Luthiers might still be
interested in undocumented wood, but I doubt it is going to fetch the same
as Documented wood.
