When I played Rossington's burst...

When I toured with Skynyrd I played Gary's burst a few times ...this was way before anyone at Gibson thought about making the Rossington replica (1991 I think it was)...my question is, is it the same one they replicated? I don't know (and never asked him) how many he had, I figured it was his main guitar and that was good enough for me ...but I don't see any of those marks that I see on all the replicas. Here is a scan of a pic of me with it:

And a close-up of the guitar:

Can anyone with a good enough eye tell if that's "the one"?

Thanks.

Yes it's the guitar they replicated - 12 years worth of playing the shit out of a guitar will add lots of wear and dings;)

daze: thanks :dude

xNFx: It played and looked awesome!

rcoggin: yeah, that was Gary's rack ... a bunch of cool guitars for sure

SG DICK: :lolspin My girlfriend (at the time) bought it for me, I was always a huge Speed Racer fan - guess you are too :hippy

burst59: Yeah, we toured with Skynyrd after Junnkyard did. I knew those guys from Hollywood, especially Brian the guitarist who later joined Bad Religion.

It was the best opening tour we did in terms of how cool they were to us. Gary was incredibly nice to me, went out of his way to talk to me and be cool. The whole band and crew were awesome, made us feel welcome and part of the party. Johnny (Van Zandt) used to hang in our dressing room and just chill - a very down to earth guy. I toured with a lot of bands that were pricks, so it was very refreshing.

Those Pensa Suhrs were the guitars that Ed King played on that tour. He made them sound incredible.

Whoa.........thats a cool picture to have bro. Damn cool. What was the name of your band? I loved Ed King era Skynerd.

I truly believe that Rossinton guitar is all just Tom Murphy Hype.
I'd much rather have a brand new looking Historic for $2500 cheaper.

Thanks, Burst! I remember all the controversy Junkyard caused in the "scene." I didn't know he was in BR, I'm glad to hear he's still doing it.

Hi,

(Sorry if this ends up getting posted twice - I tried it once before)

Dave, I read your post about being in the Four Horsemen - the bass player in my band is Ben Pape!
