Folks, this time i made perhaps my best Norlin achievement ever. Its mint 72 LP Custom cherryburst.

Finish shiny like mirror, the guitar looks like it has been played 2 months and then put in case under bed. No dings, no bigger dents, guitar feels like new. Im still in shock when i look at her.

Everything original, still 500k audio taper pots and black Sprague caps. Tone is a bit different than former 74 Custom, a bit clearer and more aggressive, cutting (perhaps partly due to the difference between 500k here and 300k pots which are in 74). This is very wild growling rock machine with great wood overtones but very articulate. Beast!

Its so shiny that i am afraid to play her at times, so i dont ding her. I am still amazed.

I must recommend here the seller CWH1 (Ebay), hes the best seller i ever dealt with. Top notch guy, very honest, top packing.

very nice indeed
unusally well cared for, and
personally I love the headstock, with the yellowed binding contrasting with the block fret markers-really cool!

happen to love that era, and have one myself
if that's the Puerto Rican Gibson case-typically silver instead of gold logo, be mindful of neck support

I wasn't aware that burst customs were out in 72. nor that they were still using embossed pup covers instead of plain, and had switched over to brass saddles from nylon-all features my 72 has-never say never with Gibson

I trust yours has fretless frets?

First burst Customs occured in very early 71. Embossed pickup covers were typical form only one year - 1972 (or very very late 71 too). And i personally never saw 72 with nylon saddles, only brass. :)

Pristine condition! Congratulations!

I always associate Frank Zappa with the Norlin LP Custom in cherry sunburst!
