Quick R7 Question
I have an opportunity to nab an 02 R7 for a pretty good price. The seller states that it has "Burstbucker Pickups" that he doesnt care for and he will include a set of 57 Classic s (he never got around to installing) with the guitar. My question is this: would this guitar have Burstbuckers 2 & 3, or some other configuration. Is there any way to tell for sure without yanking the pickups out?

I have an '02 and it had '57 Classics stock. I don't know if this changed at all during the '02 year. I'm inclined to say no, though. Still... I'm not sure.

I think some of the late 02 Historics shipped with Burstbuckers. I want to say they were 2&3 combinations, but I'm not sure.

i've only seen 1 and 2's on the R7's.
2 &3's on the 68RI's and Boneyards. |

I've got an '03 R7 and it's got the BB 1 and BB2. I dont' think the R7s came with 2 and 3, as mentioned. SOme of the other historics do but not the R7s.
I originally wanted the 57 classics but I'm very happy with the BBs that came in my R7. I'm not changing them. Go for it.
