Toni - She reportedly weighed 8.6 but I think she's closer to 9. She's definitely not a featherweight.
Ray - No I've dulled out the nickle...but the rest is going to be done the old fashioned way:dude I'm not even gonna put her out in the sun...which is amazing for me!!! Well...I just returned from playing her LOUD!!! I'm not going to get all fanatical with the tone report. I can just simply tell you that this guitar KICKS ASS. Tim's pick-ups compliment this guitar incredibly!!! In the middle postion I've got KILLER Dickey tone, in the Bridge I've got KILLER Pagey & every other Burst slinger.... the neck has a smooth, warm sound with a little sparkle. It is absolutely a players guitar. The action fit & einish are spot on....out of the box. The nut is not "kinking" the strings when I bend. It sounds PERFECT(for me) & the total over the top killer thang..........it aint ugly!!!! Little Martha :dude |

OMG
I went over to Tim's last night and tried out this beast. IMHO, this is the best LP I've ever seen out of the box brand new. Killer guitar, killer wood, and acoustically has all the characteristics that should make it an awesome sounding guitar.
The pictures Tim took don't even do this thing justice, it is way better looking in person, and has tons of character. Neck profile was really nice too. Better than the ones at the NAMM show. You got a goodun', Timbo!!! ![]()

Thanks to all who have had nice things to say!!!:dude The guitar is absolutely GREAT. It will help to make what I hope will be some music that others REALLY enjoy.........I couldn't be more satisfied!!!
Brian - I don't think anything compares to the old guitars. But I can with 100% certainty say that it seems to possess many of the qualities that people rave about with the old guitars. It's a very musical piece(s) of wood. Ask Nick about the notes hangin' in the wood.....or somewhere in the guitar??? It projects sound from all over....but the neck at about the 12th fret....really amazing. I would venture to say that in 40 years with '57 - '60 PAF's you'd have a guitar that is very similar SOUNDING to the guitars that we lust after. For the cash I don't think you can buy a better guitar:dude There is however one Uber Replica that still makes me shudder!!!!:dude tim Last edited by howardslespaul : 03-04-03 at 10:49 AM. |
