Re: Ever Weighed Your Historic

10 lbs is Custom range weight. My '74 Custom was 10#3oz.

I don't know how much a Bigsby adds, but it's gotta be quite a bit more than a LW TP.

If you have back problems, get rid of it. I just turned 60, my back ain't what it used to be. I sold my Custom, I'm turning those $ into a Special. They are generally pretty light.

My R9 weighs 8#12oz. I can deal with that for a 3 hour gig. A few more years, I might have to sell it and buy a chambered Historic.

Re: Ever Weighed Your Historic

the 2010 R9 i sold recently weighs in at 8 lbs 6 oz which i think is a tad lower than the average.

My Rossington is more in the heavier department weighing in at 9 lbs 4 oz.

The aged Felder i own is 8 lbs 5 oz

Re: Ever Weighed Your Historic

2011 R7 (Black Top Gloss Wildwood Spec), weight 8.11
1st fret .901
12th fret 1.007

My lightest now is a PRS Korina McCarty @ 7.0 pounds with Redplate TweedyDrive @ 40 pounds/40 Watts is an easy package.

and I'm aged 58, weigh 162 pounds.

A 9 pounder would not bother me at all though.

Re: Ever Weighed Your Historic

I have 2 9's a Dapra 2009 at 8 3/4 and a 2010 at 8 1/2 In my humble opinion the best weight is around 8 1/2 give or take 4-5 oz. The heavy ones sound huge but have a harsher high end. I used to have a custom 1957 Black beauty with 3 pickups slightly over 10 pounds but with the all mohoghany body it sounded like a grand piano on the low notes!!
