If this is it, it's the best photo I've ever seen...

Re: Beano Burst photo?

Is this the same guitar? The neck pickup seems reversed in the Cream photo....
The dark lines coming off the bass side of the neck pickup seem to match too...

Re: Beano Burst photo?

Strike two, neither of them are the Beano Burst. The Beano Burst was stolen during Creams first rehearsals and already had the covers removed from the PAFs showing a double white and a double black set. My guess is the one shown in the picture with Cream was borrowed but not from Peter Green.

Here's a quick and dirty evolution of Claptons early Les Paul playing period.

Re: Beano Burst photo?

The top one is the guitar Eric bought from Andy Summers. That guitar was later stolen as well..

Re: Beano Burst photo?

Yep top pic with Cream is the Summersburst and the PG pic is/was his own unique LP that was later owned by Gary Moore.
Best pics we've seen so far of the Beanoburst are on here, there are many threads, punch in Beano on the search function and look through. The pics were taken at the beano album recording sessions in '66........b&w.

Re: Beano Burst photo?

As I've said before - A fabrication of a "showbiz" manager who needed to cover his ass ( and a spaced out guitarist who didn't know what planet he was on).

The reason "Beano" is so hard to find is because it never existed.

"You can fool all of the people some of the time, and some of the people all of the time.............."

PS - and yes, I WAS around then......

Hi major,I'm trying to get the gist of what you've written here.
Is it, that you think the beanoburst is a myth?
And I'm picking that the reference to a showbiz manager etc is referring to another/different thread?

Yes, major, please go with this. You've got my full attention. Are you saying the theft was fabricated, and the so-called "Beano" LP was just one of many that went through his hands during this period?
