Kluson Waffleback/Super Tuners are HERE!!

Got my three sets of Waffleback/Super Tuners from WD today! all I can say is Holy Shit, Holy Shit, Holy Shit!!! They're excellent and look exactly like my vintage ones but w/o the tuning issues!! Even the gold plating is the correct colour. Put a set on my R-7 Custom!
BTW, the tips are perfect!

Do you know if is whole line is upgraded, like he had mentioned before? USA sizes vs metric, correct bushings, single line etc?

Mine are on the FedEx truck comming today. Can't wait to put them on my Historic '54 Black Beauty!!

Did the screw holes line up or did you need to drill a new one? Larry thought that they may be slightly different in layout from the Klusons.

Hey Rod, Larry says the whole line is up to date as of now but that the website will take a few weeks to get up to date.

WAY TO GO WD!!! Bringing back the REAL Kluson line again!

Thanks!! I have a 2002 R9 that needs to be "corrected" and the OLD ones were not getting it. I hope his new ones have single line, in both single and double ring, and noline in single ring!! Double line does not make sense on Les Pauls.

Rod; those have been correct for a while now. Larry has both single and dbl lines in both dbl ring and single ring. Pretty much covers the whole Kluson/Gibson era.

Just ordered two sets of nickel single line, double rings tuners. Will report with pictures once they are in hand.

Just so everyone knows all the Kluson keys in stock now at RS Only are the new version with the same buttons and 1/4" shafts as the Supers. We are no longer selling last years Klusons.

There's a picture (Kluson ad) in Vintage Guitar (9/08) that shows a waffelback with the gold plated keystone shaped tuning keys. Anyone got a link as to where to order those? I didn't see them on the WD, Kluson or any other site yet, just the picture in VG.

Anyone else see them?

So why did Larry at WD e-mail me that the double ring / single line Klusons are not the new ones yet? Just last week he replied to my e-mail asking to order a set and said that those would be a while longer before they were "updated".....that "the slower moving ones would be last to be upgraded"

?!?!?!

I need to call Paula and stop dealing with WD!

Why oh why do I not reduce my headaches and just stick with RS!!

Hey Paula....

Simply put we sent Larry all the original buttons and bushings that were used for the new keys, so he let us get an order early to repay our help. WD/Kluson has to replace the old keys with new keys as they sell out so they don't have both styles to get mixed up. We just put our old ones in our clearance section as started selling the new ones since we are small enough to be able to keep them straight.
