Gary Moore '57 Goldtop for sale

On Ebay there is a 1957 Les Paul Goldtop that has remarkable similarities to the black trimmed Gold Top that Snowy White used to use. I didn't know that Gary had a guitar of this description before..

Might be original parts...But that black plastic is not what was on it when Gary had it.

He seems to be offing a lot of his 'Paul's these day's? He's had that one for quite a while but I never saw it with the black trim before. Is 'Stripe' next on the block?

Well the write up next to the 57 in the write up says "cream pickup surrounds added"

Maybe Gary didn't like the black plastic and only put it back on to sell.

With that serial number, I would have expected that guitar to have P-90s and cream colored plastic.

Re: Gary Moore '57 Goldtop for sale

I seem to remember New Kings Road Vintage Guitars had this one on their stand at a Vintage Guitar Show in London held in about 1998-2000. I remember because Gary was standing next to it at the time. It had black plastic then. I think the price was £15,000.

The QUANTITY of Goldtops with BLACK parts that have come out of the UK is nothing short of eye opening.

Yes, that should be a P-90 serial number.

Very early number for sure, Could be a conversion. Also if it was the first series 57's it should have a non stickered early brushed nickle PAF.

The first 57s should have P-90s, not non-stickered PAFs.

None, as far as I know.
I think they started in the 7-2XXX range.
