Re: Montrose v Moore - Judgment has Entered
And in the Solomon baby case, the worst case scenario forces the hand of both women and the honorable woman does the right thing.
In this guitar case, I'm not sure anymore which way it "should" go. |

Re: Montrose v Moore - Judgment has Entered
Problem with the Solomon theory is that Gary Moore has had the guitar longer and played it more than Montrose so he would probably love it as much if not more.

Oh great! Now we are going to discuss who loves it more?
![]() While I thought I did, maybe Billy really did love it more. He made efforts to get it, while I made efforts to sell it. So who loved it more, me or Billy? ![]() ![]()

Re: Montrose v Moore - Judgment has Entered
I still think the best solution would be for Ronnie and Gary to cut heads. If some producer does it right, and sets it up in an old school, barrel house, "crossroads" kind of way, it could be an awesome show, and might even be spread out over a few different shows in a few different venues. The winner keeps the guitar, the loser gets the gate and pay-per-view money. Or maybe better yet, the winner gets his choice between the guitar or the money. If they could scrape up somewthing in the neighborhood of a half a million dollars, that would be a pretty dramatic moment.
They both split proceeds from the sales of DVDs, CDs and merchandise. Oh, and I get 10% for coming up with the idea. |

Or maybe . . . do you think they might agree to have Judge Judy decide the issue?

The two of em on Survivor. Ronnie sort of looks like that ruthless guy Richard Hatch who won the first season.

Montrose's playing of a Strat automatically disqualifies him. Most of Paper Money was a Strat!

Re: Montrose v Moore - Judgment has Entered
I shared a few emails with Ronnie mid to late 90's. When I asked about him and Dan Hartman switching instruments ( I had seen it on TV years earlier) he reiterated the story of the stolen Les Paul. What I took away from those emails was a guy that was still heartbroken over the loss.
Much respect for Montrose, he was always a fav player of mine- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVBMJickUeM Ronnie and Dan 'switching"mid tune... Dan on a Strat, Ronnie on bass. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OR8mYPvrC6w |

Re: Montrose v Moore - Judgment has Entered
I always thought that too! But the last time I posted the two side by side, it got no reaction. The Linda Blair idea came from a buddy of mine. I figured if we're gonna "demonize" GM.....

I disagree. The Sex Addicts meeting scene, by itself, was worth the price of admission.

You put too much importance on your self Yngmoore. Gary should put you on the payroll.

Tom, maybe this has been discussed in a different thread, but what`s the story behind how you acquired the quitar? My head is still spinning from just reading through this entire thread, yet that part of this drama seems to have not been touched upon thus far. Could you please maybe throw up a couple photos of when you had it? Would love to see some photos of this beast, regardless of who was strumming it. |

In many countries there are laws that gives the guy who has possession of something (might be an object or real estate) the rightful ownership in force of long, uninterrupted detention. The reason is to avoid claims like this that pops up after ages. Gary Moore has had that guitar for more than 20 years. For as far as we know (and there's no evidence that points to the contrary) the bought it not knowing it was stolen. He PAID for that guitar, he PLAYED it for many many years, he BONDED with that guitar. Can you, honestly, after all these years, claim that that guitar is beyond any doubt more Montrose's that Moore's? Even if you think it's not honorable to keep it, I don't think that would be an easy decision for you to make, should you give up a guitar you've bought, loved, and played for more than 20 years.

Not new to the forum, but behavior in this thread is disappointing. I never expected to read so much sophomoric bashing in an adult forum like this one. Pathetic.

Gald to have you. We adhere to the free speech doctrine here, well, at least I do, however all opinions are certainly welcome and considered.
