Anyone have this custom ?
Hello all,
I am wondering if anyone out there has seen or owns a certain model Custom Les Paul... I saw it on a few online guitar retail sites maybe a year ago, then it seemed to disappear. The guitar is a Les Paul Custom, however it had a great flame top, AAAA, I believe, and the back, neck were finished natural. It really stood out and was one of the best looking les pauls I have seen. Anyone with any info or experience on this unique model ? Thanks |

hey thanks for the link, that guitar is really nice.
A few years ago they had a 68 reissue at the lincoln guitar center, in the sunburst type finishes, and it really stood out. I dont think thats the one though, the one I saw had no color on the back, sides, or the neck. A clearcoated natural finish. I remember I was on google and was thumbing thru les paul images, and it gave a link to the regular musiciansfriend sales page, and on the guitar page it said 'discontinued' . Just wondering if anyone ever bought one or has more info... Thanks again... |

Hey Thanks for posting the pics, 58 junior.
The neck on that gibson is absolutely beautiful. Im sure pics dont do it justice. I also sanded down the neck on my gibson a few years ago and converted it to page specs...left it natural too... better looking, easier playing and added tone benefits that suit my style. I prefer guitars with natural necks, they just are funner to play too, simple enought, ha. So far I havent found any more info on the limited run custom... I will email gibson this weekend and maybe they can add something... Thanks again... |

These types of customs have to be some of the best looking ones ever.
Yeah, I do like the regular ones, white, black etc... But these have an auora all their own, they look totally unique |

I have emailed gibson and asked about the model mentioned earlier,
so hopefully they will send something, and I can download a pic and some info also. |

Wow!
'68 Custom reissue with a flame maple neck! I love it! I own a '76 maple neck Custom...it's has very little flame on the neck and the top....but it sounds great. |

I know another guy who has one of those vintage sunburst/flame maple neck'd Customs. I believe he got it from a shop that ordered 5 of them. I know there are at least 3 now!
