What would you guys do...

With this...

Now before everyone says "put it back together, and play it!", it needs a refret. I'm really just wondering about plastic color. I could go black, but that would be like any other Norlin custom.

I was thinking maybe ALL black. Hardware, and plastic. Or maybe a John Sykes look. Maybe the Ace look with creme plastic.

I just don't know!

Note: Came from the factory with chrome hardware.

That's what I'm leaning towards, but I'm open to suggestion.

Keep those ideas coming! I think I'm going with the creme/chrome anyway, but I love to see other people's opinions.

Re: What would you guys do...

Why not route it for a 3rd pickup a go Peter Frampton style. Gold Hardware, Creme plastic, Gold knobs,, Gold Grovers, and double black pickups, but no Pickguard. Could always leave it as chrome hardware too.

I'd go with creme and chrome with double-whites, but stick with two pickups.

Sweet guitar!

I may be wrong but that looks like Nickel covers, ABR-1, and tailpiece to me.

Re: What would you guys do...

Do it myself? No - I play 'em, I'm not qualified to work on 'em - (too scared).

I had it done by a few people I trusted. I bought the guitar from a local guy. It's an "82. I had an autobody shop do a clearcoat after a luthier did the stripping and '50s wiring with an RS Super kit. Stock pickups - Shaw's I've been told.

It did come out nice - Thanks. It's my Number One (Number Two is behind it in the photo.

In my eyes nothing looks classier than an ebony Custom with gold hardware and black plastic; keep the chrome and cream for the ebony Standards. Naturally it's all down to personal taste.

Hey Boles! BMS from the other side. I know you already have a couple of Aced out Pauls. I'm a big fan of the Bolan look with zebras like phil mentioned or the John Sykes look. Leaning more toward the Bolan though. Not many people can say they've done that. Cheers!

aged nickel (including pickup covers) and creme. It would look like a 50's guitar. But use whatever pickups you like. It would be a wolf in sheep's clothing.
