A few historics
Hello all,
Last thursday I visited the local Gibson dealer here in Omaha, and they had a 1959 reissue hanging on my second favorite wall. My first favorite wall is the wall at home with my guitars on it, ha. I dont get the chance to see or play many '59 reissues, as they usually stock about everything else except that model. A cost isssue no doubt. Anyway, it really played well. It had that warm, dimensional, colorful, woodsy tone. They also had a few reissue goldtops, they sounded spectacular as well, woah, what great instruments ... I have played several over the years and every one I have played really impresses me. It seems the quality, tone, and overall performance of the gold top models is really consistent. Even in the standard model series. Im wondering if other people have noticed this ? I never have considered buying a gold top, I prefer other finishes, but it definately has drawn me in. |
