• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Amazing Martin Barre could get such a big sound out of that small amp. He may also have used a Les Paul Junior to record Aqualung. One of the major classic rock albums to come out in the '70s and still relevant today.

Perhaps a low wattage Supro amp?

Martin Barre used a Hiwatt stack of amps on every Jethro Tull album from Benefit up to Minstrel In The Gallery, so it's very possible that that amp in question is a Hiwatt amp.

By the time Too Old To Rock and Roll: Too Young To Die! came out, Martin switched to using Marshall amps.

On Stand Up too.

But the tone on Minstrel In The Gallery was always a bit "Marshallish" to me, perhaps his transition to Marshalls even earlier during 75.
