By chance I saw an ad for a limited edition "nitro finished" G&L Legacy and it was in one of those cool custom Fender colors, Shell Pink. And both the body and neck were nitro, with the neck slightly tinted, so I took a chance and bought this guitar.

It's a 2016 model and frankly and I'm pretty damn impressed. The finish is wonderful although it did show up with two miniscule dings in the back, because the seller shipped with the case pocket open, and the little wrench baggie, which had some allen wrenches in it slipped out and under the guitar. No big deal though as the seller knocked another $100 off the price for my inconvenience, and dings will easily buff out. The guitar itself is great, it's very playable with a PLEK'ed 9.5 radius medium jumbo fretted dark rosewood fingerboard, silky trem, and one very surprising thing, the G&L PTB tone circuit, which incorporates one master volume, a treble control the works as a low pass filter, and bass control that works like a high pass filter. With the bass control you can shave out just the right amount of low end from the neck pickup to make it really tight! And all of the pickup positions sound great. For my needs this tone setup is way better than the conventional Fender Strat setup.

The quality on this guitar is pretty damn amazing for about 1/2 of what it would cost to get a custom shop Nitro Strat. The action was a bit high, but I lowered all the saddles one full turn and now it plays GREAT! I can't wait to record with this this, so soon as I finish this string of gigs I'm on, I will get right over to the studio and write and record a song with it.

It looks really nice, (I like that colour) and given it's cost compared to similar Fender CS specs, plus that it suits your preferred playing tonal requirements, looks like it will be a great purchase for you.

Play/enjoy in good health.

Love me some G&L's, also have owned and enjoyed a few Leo era models too. I really like that tone circuit. So much so that I had a fella design a Tele version with a TBX pot mixed with the Jerry Donahue switching config so it's not only go the funky switching tones but I can cut out the bass which gives it a thinner old school 60's type tele tone. Enjoy!

Great guitar! I'm working up a song to record on my G&L S-500 right now. I just love how solid and stable they are.

only thing I'd say is this

I think G and L's have the highest Quality of Guitar / Shitty Name ratio of any guitars out there (and the worse the name the lower the denominator)

its funny. Leo Fender was an engineering genius but had absolutely no imagination when it came to naming guitars. and that was true from beginning to end.

even when he made the Brodcaster there already was a brodcaster.... so he's like.... ok well you broadcast to televisions so I'll just call it a Telecaster

I had a RAMPAGE for a while though. I guess that was kind of a cool name

I think Gretsch probably takes the cake for lowest quality of guitar / coolest names if we want to play this game. a game I just came up with. and will probably play by myself.

I recently played one on my last trip through dallas...

It was a slightly aged version - fit & finish were top notch and the price point was in the american standard realm... much better guitar than the Fender in my opinion.

as with the gibson/heritage debate it might just be all about the headstock shape

I love this headstock shape, and I also own two Heritage H150s!!!!

Shell pink is an excellent color for a guitar or car.
AGREED:)

Yep I can feel the solidness of the trem!!!!

I've thought about borrowing the tone circuit for one of my humbucker guitars!

Congrats on a beautiful guitar.

G&L makes a top notch USA guitar.

My Tele jones is covered by a superb ASAT Bluesboy.

I had a copper colored sparkle top ASAT that looked and played righteously, but mine had the MFD pickups which I couldn't get along with, but, I've always appreciated the Bluesboys!!! Today I played my Legacy for hours and just had the time of my life with the best tremolo system I've ever had on a guitar, it's just smooth as silk with no slop in the arm and returns to pitch perfectly. I didn't have to retune once!!!

Here's my old ASAT....
