Not ever has a guitar come along with such provenance to the original Believer Burst. This True Historic is painted, aged & signed by "The Burst Master" Tom Murphy, and a hand picked top by Edwin Wilson plus an aged case to boot its truly rare and the utmost collectable 59 reissue ever built. This run marks the end the great Murphy/Wilson era built just prior to Edwin Wilsons departure from Gibson Custom in 2017.
The Gibson Custom shop in cooperation with Vic DaPra bring us this gorgeous 2016 59 Les Paul Murphy painted & aged 59 Les Paul “Believer Burst” with all True Historic specs featuring a “hand selected” top by Edwin Wilson. Edwin Wilson not only “hand picked” the top and all the tone woods to replicate the “Believer Burst” but he also mixed up the back color paint as well. The finger board is so dark its almost black. Tom Murphy’s paint work is just off the charts and he just nailed the color of Vic DaPra’s “Believer Burst” and the top looks spot on to the original. Its Murphy & Wilson’s most beautiful work to date! No version of the “Believer Burst has EVER been done before that has been painted & aged by the Burst Master Tom Murphy. Even the Collectors Choice version of the Believer Burst from 2010 were not painted & aged by Murphy and they did not have True Historic specs.
