• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I bought a buggered one a year ago and love it- routed and some wood replaced on the back of the headstock. Great old wood tone. Heavy- well over 9 lbs close to 10. Mine has Pat Number sticker T tops. If you look at this for what it is- something to be enjoyed and strictly not for originality- it is the only way to get old wood sound for this kind of money. While a bit off- putting the shaved neck isn't terrible. To me my 69's neck took some getting used to. It tapers a lot and up by the 12 th fret is quite large. I see them on line for $6k with all sorts of mods. The prices have gone up a lot in the last year. Mine has all chrome- this looks more like nickel covers with original TP and bridge.

As chance would have it, I know this guitar and it's a good one! The one piece body '69s are great guitars, and having had nearly as many late '60s LP's as '50s, they're every bit as good :dude:

The heel is unlike any 69 I`ve seen.

Top refinished. Looks like the whole thing has been refinished.

MMMmmm, I`ve seen one 1969 GT thinned but the heel was not touched.
Heres a 1976 Standard with same heel. Just curious.

A monsta.
The op's heel picture looks like the back color is original- they are a much more ochre/gold. The neck is not the original finish though.
