• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Back in March I bought a 1966 Vox Berkeley Super Reverb Twin, (head only) from The HOG. I looked in their stash for the original speaker cab and cart, but couldn't find it . Saturday , I found them, together, hiding in plain sight. Original speakers are gone, but a pair of 1980's Celestion G10Ls sound real nice! Thanks Curt and Bruce!

So, is this basically a head and cab version of a Vox Cambridge? I have one of those and it is one of my most frequently used amps.

Yes. These are a piggyback version of the Cambridge Reverb. The Cambridge Reverb has 1x10".

I, too, love these amps. I've had 4 and have kept one with a 12" Celestion Blue.

Congrats on getting that cab and rack!

Yeah, I remember you being a fan of those as well. Great amps. I had a special speaker cable made that lets me jack it into a Marshall 4x10 cab. Great sound.

I'd love to check out a Berkeley someday.

Yeah, I do like the amp quite a bit. When the reverb died I got out of the habit of playing it. I fixed the reverb and it's great for lower volume gigs. I can't get it to work for a strat without resorting to pedals. Just too thin for some reason. Real nice with humbuckers.

A Berkely would be just the thing.

A Cambridge came to pay me a visit. Still trying to decide whether to buy it or not.

You know what to do.

(of course you'll be a getting a nice 10" for that little combo!)

The Cambridge needed a lot more work than what was noticeable in the pic, and the price little high, so I had to pass. Cool amp though.
