Yesterday this thread put a hair up my butt to order the book. Amazon wanted $65, but a little Googling led me to an eBay listing for the hardcover edition from JK Lutherie at just $50 shipped. I placed an order and received the book today. I've only had time to thumb through it but it looks like a lot of good stories and burst porn. :spabout

I finally got around to ordering one of these today, as well. Looking forward to it!

Should be a nice addition to my Botb, the Gibson burst (Scott and Dapra), the early years of the Les Paul legacy (Lawrence) and the 50 years of the Gibson Les Paul (Bacon).

I already have beauty of the burst and I'm looking to purchase these 3. I wonder why most sellers ask more for the package of 1 & 2 together than separate.

I wonder if there is a book where they talk about the LP special / jr / LP doublecut from 60-64?

My set on Volumes 1 & 2 together came with a bonus supplement of outtake photos. Not sure if the supplement was included in all sets or just a limited number.

Robb Lawrence's book about 'Les Paul: The Early Years' is a good source.
