71-72 Les Paul Top Carves

I hope I'm in the right Forum for this. Can some folks please post some pics of the top carves from these years? I'm interested in those "'54-''58" Reissue Goldtops and have searched various places for good carve shots but don't really have much success. I'm Top Carve-obsessed and I'm pretty sure they aren't as pronounced as the '68-'69s but want to get an idea of what they are like.

Thanks. Man, that is clean! So, would you say that it has some dish? They appear to be between '69 and the late '70s where there was really no carve ( I had a couple of them)?

I`d say no more carve/dish than the rest of the "domed " tops. 70-79.
68-69 is much nicer.

My 72 54 had absolutely no dish , but it had a window in the cutaway one piece body & neck and was a killer tone wise .

1970 and may of the 71 tops still were more carved than the dome type since 1972 (less than late 60s though). True "domed" tops came on scene in 75/76.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I've seen some pics of some from 1970 that are still fairly carved but they do seem to just steadily disappear over the decade. :dang I guess I'll just hold out for an earlier reissue.

I think this pic is a pretty good illustration of the top carve of my 71 reissue. I would say the top carve is subtle.
