• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

what do you make of this ABR-1 bridge? It was on a '69 SG Std.

Greetings -

I bought a 1969 SG Standard, and this bridge was on it.

What do you think this is? It's not a vintage Gibson bridge.

It's got the wire / nylon saddles, and on the back says "ABR-1".

One odd thing; although it is slightly worn, it looks pretty new. The back of it looks darn right shiny.

So I don't know.

Any thoughts on when this bridge was made (approximately), or anything else about it?

thanks

Ricardo

Newer bridge with older saddles maybe? Newer screws possibly, as those would have been chrome too.

The '69 bridge would have GIBSON and the Pat# on the bottom.

But seems that what you have will do the job nicely.

What I'm wondering about is what is this bridge?

Does anyone know what year my ABR-1 bridge is? Or can tell me anything about it?

thanks

Looks late 90's- now to me...if you ordered a new ABR-1 in chrome, it would look like yours.

Saddles are anyone's guess..COULD be the originals, but hard tellin'

So really hard to tell, but the EARLIEST it could be is '96. The chrome ABR-1s had the Patent Number up til then, the nickel had that Gibson logo.
