I bought this new in 1990. After scouring the net, I can't find any detailed info about it. I'm hoping that maybe one of you has a similar one.

What kind of info are you looking for? And what is the serial number?

The serial number is 90960513

I am mainly interested in finding out more about the flame tops from this time (early 90's).
I don't recall it being any kind of special model when I bought it, but I've only seen a handful with this top. Does it add to the value?

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Here's the top on my 1991 Custom. Different maple top, but similar spray pattern:

Yes indeed, that is similar. If I remember correctly-under the neck pickup is a VSB stamp.
I always thought it meant vintage sunburst?

I remember nothing but flame topped Customs at that time.

Hell yes!

I love the color, the "flip flop" flame, the flamed "fins" and almost a "claw" coming off the bridge pickup surround..

LOVE that action behind the tailpiece!:teeth

I like very much these flame tobacco tops on late 80s and very early 90s Customs. Very cool and unique looking Les Pauls. :dude:
