• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Both are very expensive even for european market. :hmm

Thank you for your input. I knew I had come to the right place.

What kind of price range applies to these guitars? Are they particularly 'collectable'? Is that what is pushing up the price?
Do you know of any other good dealers in Europe? Or even in the States? For lefties of course.

Thank you!

76 LP Deluxe and 81 LP Custom arent by no means very collectable guitars, even in original condition. I wouldnt pay more than 2500 EUR for some of these. For this price, you can have 70-74 LP Deluxe or Custom in great original condition - these are a bit more collectable.

And dont forget to try to look here:

Thanks for the feedback. I should stress that I am not a collector but rather looking for something already 'played in'.

I've looked at the website.
Is this Deluxe better value? http://www.hendrixguitars.com/Lh900.htm or http://www.vintageandrare.com/product/Gibson-Les-Paul-Deluxe-Lefty-1981-Cherry-Sunburst-54893 Price is Euro 2800.

How would you explain the price difference (Euro 3900) with this:
http://www.hendrixguitars.com/Lh965.htm

Here's another 1981 Custom (Euro 2700):

Thanks for the education and guidance :) Any other thoughts?

These are two Very different sounding guitars. I'd strongly suggest spending some quality time with a mini hb les paul before buying one.

Some me people love em.....some people can't get comfortable with them.

I had a lp deluxe.....it was a very nice playing guitar and really knocked me out at first....but....I could not...in any way...get comfortable with the stock or aftermarket mini hb's.

Very Oversimplified.....spank and twang are easy to get out of a tele..... Full sized hb Tones aren't so easy to pull out of an lp deluxe.

I find just the opposite to your statements. Are you stating that all Mini's have going for them is Tele spank and twang? And in what universe does someone expect a Mini to sound like a PAF humbucker? Yes they are different, but in no way is a Mini Humbucker more like a single coil Fender than a full size Humbucker. NO WAY! If you want Standard tones get a Standard. If you want something a little more versatile and wide ranging get the Minihum Deluxe.

Firebird pickups sound closer to Fenders and not anything like the Deluxe Mini-humbuckers, that would be true but Deluxe MiniHums sound like hum buckers with a more balanced tone. I'm sure if you are chasing a specific classic PAF type tone you may not bond with a Deluxe, but if you have wider tastes in tone you might find them perfect.
