• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

Hi everyone!
I have the chance to buy a Gibson LP Standard for €800/€850.
But it has had a neck crack (fixed) and it is missing the pickguard..

What do you think about it? Should I buy it or leave it? :)

Head stock breaks make for a good way to get into an LP for significantly less money.

If it plays well and you like it the head stock break (as long as it was repaired well) isn't a deal breaker.

Be aware tho that selling the guitar down the line may take longer as many won't even consider buying an LP with a head stock break.

I've owned/played a few and it was never a problem for me. :peace2
