The most wonderful gift.

Been a long time since I've posted a thread here.
My B-Day was in July and a dear High School Bro shocked the hell out of me.
He sent me his '01 LP Standard for my B-Day. :yah It's not only beautiful , it's among the top two best sounding LPs I've ever owned.
The feel is incredible too. The '59 carve feels very much like the many R0's I've owned. However , a bit beefier after the 7th fret. It's a C carve where as a couple of my old R0's had a D carve.
I love the feel of this neck.
Weighs in at a lean 8.5lbs.

After a week I decided the stock 498T/490R pickup combo wasn't for me. So , I dropped in a set of Duncan Seth Lover's.:biggrin:
Also put in a pair of Bee's I had and did 50's wiring.
Had some parts left from a few years back and figured I'd use them.
Aluminum TP , Pigtail steel studs , top hats/pointers , blank TR cover and a DMC switch tip.
I bought a set of steel conversion posts just incase I ever want to put on an ABR. The Nashville is fine though.
Will eventually put on some tall pickup rings as that's my preference. I'm in no hurry though.

Been playing and loving this beauty for three months now.
Sounds killer through my JMP 2204 , Vibrolux Reverb and my little kitchen amp (DSL5c).

What prompted your friend to give you his LP?

Seriously, pardon my question and don't feel obliged to answer. But the story is so interesting--that's not a little Epiphone or something. Major gift! I'd give any of my guitars to my best friend, and I know he'd do it for me too (if I weren't a lefty).
