• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

My first Les Paul was an early 70's, probably a Deluxe, that had been converted with humbuckers. Unable able to determine the exact year, it had the volute, the 3 piece neck, sandwich body construction but pots dated at the end of 1969. The humbucker routing looked like a factory job though, and the pickups were T Tops, one a stickered patent number, the other a stamped patent number. The serial number could have been from 70, 71 or 72......such was the Gibson system at the time.

It's the black one on the right. I no longer have it. it was a good guitar, but I needed to fund other purchases. And it was a hefty weight, I guess in the 11lb range.
