• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

So, I was inspired by Texsunburst59's recent acquisition of a 1970's Mocha Strat and decided to start a thread dedicated to the Mocha finished Fender guitars from the 70s.

Here's my '73 Tele Deluxe. It's been with me on countless gigs, a ton of sessions and even on the TV! Once derided in the vintage world, turns out it's a great guitar in its own right.

Anyway. Show us your Mochas!!

AWESOME!!! Nice Idea Shifter.
That's a really nice Tele Deluxe you got there. It looks all original except
the bridge. Is that correct?

Well You've seen mine, but I'll gladly post it again for this thread.

I never heard that color called mocha back in the 70's.
Did Fender use that name for that color back then? :hmm

Latestarter is correct the Fender color is called Walnut

Quote from Fender website -

"The many great custom color finishes of the 1960s had dwindled to only half a dozen earthy tones by late 1974—sunburst, natural, blonde, black, white and walnut."
