I have one too, do you have any pics to share ? :)

No I wish I did the first one came from Southworth than I found another one the other one I bought from Garys Guitars . I traded the first one for a 67 ES 345 and it was just royal crap really regretted that trade ! The second one I sold to a friend who still has the guitar last I heard . Those are great guitars I really wish i still had one . I was young & foolish I also had a 72 gold top one piece neck & body with just a stop tail ,window in cutaway binding I had the gold top for 18 years traded for a new 94 historic gold top . The 72 is the guitar I will always miss those early 70s Les Pauls are great guitars !

I came across an excellent pictorial comparison of staple pickups ('55, '69RI, 2010RI) by MLP member d1m1

I thought I'd re-post it here, just in case the other thread disappears...full credit to d1m1 for the photos :salude

I feel not so very qualified to post this but...

My friend beat me to the chase! For him it was his dream guitar ever since he saw it. These things rarely come up where we are, and he traded up his black nashville es335 historic for it. Year 2000, stock bigsby. Only stock photos for now...

My closest encounter with an original BB was a nice 55 stoptail that rudys had a few years ago, fretless frets and all. Quite an experience since I can only bend and vibrato strings and don't know any jazz runs to save my life :laugh2:

Anyways, we figure we're pretty young to really lay down a house for a guitar, so we're really happy with our historic custom shop stuff, but man we'll get there someday!

A new Reverb.com video about that Black Beauty...it had humbuckers added, but it started out as an Alnico BB :hank

I don't know if this has already been posted here, but in any case, Smokey's guitar player has excellent taste in instruments:

Very cool story! No broken headstock? :hmm

That's a very good question...I don't recall anyone mentioning a headstock repair...maybe it survived the crash without a breakage? (amazing if it really did!)
