• Guys, we've spent considerable money converting the Les Paul Forum to this new XenForo platform, and we have ongoing monthly operating expenses. THE "DONATIONS" TAB IS NOW WORKING, AND WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY DONATIONS YOU CAN MAKE TO KEEP THE LES PAUL FORUM GOING! Thank you!

I was talking to a local dealer who told me all the new Gibsons have the automatic tuners on them.

"G Force is standard equipment on all Gibson USA guitars"

I cant imagine I will ever get used to the new automatic tuners. They feel un-natural when you try to tune the "old fashion" way.

WOW!

No thanks, they can keep em.

I dont have the money for a new gibson butt geez they
really screwed these up.

Lets hope they dont f up the Historics. They are the
only real LP's gibson makes.

It appears that the Min-Etune may be gone.

Sorta.

It is now called the "G-Force."

But, it's still the same product built by Tronical.

Can't say I'm nuts about the 15's.
Like the tuners, like the color variety.

Not so hot on the rest.
But, that's ok.

If was going to get a new LP, I'd most likely go Historic anyway, so I don't think I'm their target.

A theory I heard of was that due to the proliferation of Chinese fakes/fugazi, is what gave Gibson the drive to push for the "radical" changes...

Thoughts/opinions?

I think the Les Paul 100 is a cheap and tawdry crock to cash in on an event which has no relation to the guitars anyway. For God sake the man died. "But if he lived he'd be 100!" Kinda crass in my mind.
