He used the Strat seen in the second pic while playing with Billy Preston who opened for and then played with the Stones during the their '73 European tour. He did not use when playing live with the Stones though. (so far as I know!)

I went to a gig a couple of years ago when he was on the same bill as John Mayall and Stan Webb and got to meet him afterwards.He was a really nice person to talk to and chatted about his guitar and stuff. He was playing an R9 that night and it sounded awsome!!! Great player too.

Those old Mayall pics with the KeefBurst are sweet. Can't say the same for some of the get-ups he wore with Stones. Oy. :wah :lol

I don't know how many times I've watched this "Love in Vain" from the 1972 tour. I caught the Stones a few times, but on that particular tour they were really cooking on some higher level.

Not sure about now, or then (2010) but I do remember seeing him in the early 2000s with a LP Classic.

It sounded amazing, and was BONE STOCK.
