Host: Our very own Cogswell, moderator extraordinaire and Fender aficionado/enthusiast. Rather than just lumping them in with all the other "Non-Gibsons", we have decided to create a Pub dedicated to Fender guitars - post your vintage and modern Fenders here!

    1. Les Paul Tech Area

      (7 Viewing)

We are very pleased to have two Moderators of this Forum from Dave's Guitar Shop!

Phil Kirst was born and raised in Milwaukee WI. He has been playing music from a very early age but picked up guitar 11 years ago. After finishing high school Phil went straight to the guitar repair/building program in Red Wing MN and completed two years of training there. Directly after graduation he was offered a job as a repair tech at Dave’s Guitar Shop, where he’s been for 4 years. He has played and worked on more guitars than a lot of people get to see in their lifetime. Phil really digs old Les Paul Specials and Juniors from the 50s and anything finished in Inverness Green or Pelham Blue. He lusts over the ’56 factory black Les Paul Standard that is in Dave Roger’s personal collection.

Carl Meine attended Redwing Guitar School and has been a full time guitar tech at Dave’s Guitar Shop for 11 years. Carl, along with along with Phil Kirst and Nate Marcy, run the guitar repairs/restoration department at Dave’s Guitar Shop. They do a large amount of restoration work and repairs on every imaginable type of guitar out there. Because of the high volume, Carl has set up and repaired thousands of guitars and is intimately acquainted with all the major brands and in particular, Gibsons, Fenders and Martins. He has spent countless hours discussing the minutia of Les Pauls and other popular models and looks forward to using his knowledge to help out with any questions.
